The English star hairdresser Vidal Sassoon is often mentioned as the father of the bob. But this is only partially true, because he actually reinvented it and used the Garçon cut, which was popular in the 1920s as a template, and which was revolutionary for women in those years: reaching down to the earlobes, it was a perfect match for the flappers this decade, and it was worn either smooth or in undulated waves. When Sassoon picked up scissors in 1963 and conjured up the bob from the Garçon cut, he was thrilled. "Shake it, baby!" Exclaimed the master hairdresser enthusiastically when he discovered that the hair always fell back to the actual cut without the need for a great deal of styling.

THE BOB: ONE CUT, MANY POSSIBILITIES
Today there are countless versions of the bob: from the clavi cut to the shoulder-length version, the long bob - the bob is a real all-rounder that suits almost every woman. And for some, it has become their trademark. As for Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of US Vogue, who has been wearing a chin-length bob with glueless lace wigs uk bangs for years. Whether layered, with sliced tips, with color or without - the bob hairstyle is adorably uncomplicated, incredibly versatile and looks simply great even with naturally wavy hair.
